SAVE ENERGY

Your climate control is not just about keeping your home comfortable and healthy for your family. It is also about managing your energy bills. These systems are the single largest draw on your resources each month, which makes it important to balance your comfort needs with your budget to create a climate control system that is ideal for your home and family.

Let us help you achieve your desired level of comfort

Comfort is not a universal concept. It means different things to different people, and we will work with you to evaluate your comfort preferences to help you choose a climate control system that SAVES energy while still meeting your comfort goals.

Understanding energy efficiency

Energy efficiency is just that – the efficiency with which the system uses energy to produce its effect. The concept of energy efficiency is emphasized any time a new climate control system is being considered.

When considering the energy efficiency of your system, there are many ways to evaluate its quality. Understanding these ratings helps you to make a choice that is right for your home and your budget.

SEER

The Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) is the measure by which the efficiency of a cooling system or heat pump is discovered. The higher the SEER, the more efficient the system. Though regulations now mandate all newly manufactured systems have a SEER of at least 13, we offer systems with ratings of up to 21.

AFUE

Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) is the rating used to express the amount of fuel that is used by your oil or gas furnace for the purpose of actually heating your home, and how much of it is wasted. Many of our furnace options have AFUE ratings of 98%.

HSPF

Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) is the measurement of efficiency when a heating pump is being used in heat mode. Regulations require ratings of at least 7.7, but we offer pumps with ratings of up to 13.

COP

The Coefficient of Performance (COP) is another means of determining the efficiency of a heat pump when in heating mode. It is often used for geothermal heating systems.

EER

Energy Efficiency Rating (EER) is generally used to evaluate the efficiency of geothermal systems. As with other ratings, the higher the number, the more efficient the system.

SAVING energy is SAVING money

When you decide to invest in a new heating or air conditioning system, you are not making just the initial investment, but you are also setting yourself up for continual financial responsibilities for as long as you have that system. Your climate control efforts will account for nearly half of all of the energy that your home uses, representing a tremendous cost over time. Choosing an energy efficient model allows you to enjoy comfort throughout the year without breaking your budget.

If you have an older heating or cooling system, it is likely that your energy ratings are low and you could be spending considerably more on your energy bills than you need to. Replacing your outdated system with a new, energy efficient option can save you a considerable amount of money, often paying for itself quite quickly.

One of the most important things to keep in mind when designing an energy efficient heating and cooling system is ensuring that both aspects of the system, the components that are outside and the components that are inside, match so the system can work properly. Let us help you evaluate your climate control preferences, your home, and your budget and recommend climate control solutions that will keep your family physically and emotionally healthier, protect the environment, and keep your budget intact.
